Lyris: Lunar Landing Page App

Lyris: Lunar Landing Page App

Objective:

To create an internal landing page and form handler that interfaced with our not-quite-as-popular-as-Salesforce CRM: Netsuite, who's native form handler could not fulfill all the requirements by the marketing team.

Resources: Software Developer, Project Manager (myself), Designer

Results:

A flexible and robust dynamic landing page application that allows non-technical staff to create hundreds of iterations of a landing page template, with dynamic content and tracking from visitor to acquisition, through the sales funnel and eventually to deal won or lost. Built using .Net and MYSQL Database.

Stakeholder Impact Statement

by Cathi Sullivan

Becky's job titles don't adequately reflect the scope of her impact and her role at Lyris. We were a small company competing with larger organizations that had big budgets. So our strategy was to make investments based on data, which we chose to do through an aggressive and robust a/b testing approach to determine which media buys to make, and which of our marketing messages and assets to use. For a time our small but mighty team could run alongside the train that was our media buying and testing program. But as the program took hold, it required greater agility and speed, something with which our small team and finite budget simply could not keep pace. For instance, we needed to create and/or update hundreds of web banners and gated landing pages as often as weekly, without breaking the built-in tracking.

Becky spearheaded a "Tiger Team" for the purposes of brainstorming ways to tackle this. She actively solicited feedback from me and my team and our marketing operations team to fully understand the nuances of our needs, work styles, and desired outputs. In a relatively short period of time they built a prototype of a system we later called the Lunar Landing, which we tested and she tweaked. In short order we had a fully operational online system that made us uber-efficient: we were able to easily enter a few pieces of key information into an online form and the web banners and landing pages (inclusive of tracking) were automatically generated. I have never seen anything like it before or since, and it was an absolute game-changer for us and a contributor to our ultimate ability to prove the Lyris Marketing Team was a profit center for the business.

Note: The "Lunar Landing Page" project was coded and maintained expertly by Software Developer Armando Ramos!
